Jesus is the eternal word of God who was present at the creation of the world. All things were created by Him, including all aspects of the universe, not only physical things. Jesus orders and controls every space by His word. We suffer from disassociation because we do not trust that Jesus is the beginning and end of all things. If we could trust this concept, then we would associate the importance of His promises to us as really yea and amen. But it's more than a word spoken to us – we are in Christ. This speaks of belonging to Him in this servant-kingship duality.Although we are primarily valued by God because we are His children, we are also valued because we have chosen to follow Him and have taken on the responsibilities that come with that role. It can be difficult to understand this at first, because the Bible tells us to pray with confidence, knowing that we have this dual identity. In a way, we can tell God what to do, based on our desires and confidence. The old saints used to say that we plead the promises of God. And I would add that we also speak the curses. It is difficult for us to understand how Jesus could have humble Himself by coming to Earth and taking on human form, especially when He knew He would be subjected to sin and destruction. Yet He willingly accepted His role, even going so far as to die for it. What is even more puzzling is how He could enjoy the company of sinners, even though He was supposed to be praised and worshipped as God. This helps us to understand that there may be times in our lives when we are called to go through difficult trials, not merely for our own sake, but for the sake of others. We may not always understand why we have to go through certain trials, but we can trust that Jesus is with us, even in the midst of our struggles. It can feel like we are facing the curses of sin when we willingly decide to look at the suffering not as a blessing but as a further identification with Christ. Jesus lowered Himself as we are in the flesh, and it may seem like a contradiction for Him to get pleasure out of walking and talking with sinners. However, this is the reality of this world. This is the experience of redemption. It is where sin and hate come together. It is where all of these seeming contradictions find their solace in One Man.We choose to descend to the level of Christ because we believe that this is where we will have the most intimate experiences with Jesus. We rejoice in silence because we believe that this is when we can most clearly see the true nature of reality. Going down is the end because we believe that there is nowhere else to look but to the convergence of all these realities.
