In essencemen learn to think of reality as something that is not reliant on God. They never convince themselves that they are incapable of thinking good thoughts. They instead believe that they can think and act without God's help. This way of thinking prevents men from understanding themselves because they reason from their own perspective instead of from a divine perspective. It is not that men need more knowledge to see reality more clearly, but that they need to recognize their own limitations in order to see reality as it truly is.If God did not exist in a completely independent reality, then men would have to live as if God did not exist. Men think that they are able to live in God's reality as if they are independent from God, but this is not the case. Each individual choice of man is different in the original expression of man's independent determinism, and this would be impossible if God did not exist. This principle of self-knowledge is not something that men learn to act upon, but rather something that they are powerless to change. The reality that results from this principle is not good.Every choice we make is a reflection of our dependence on God's power. It is a lie to think that our past choices determine our future choices. We can easily fall into a state of independence and carnality, just as easily as we can sink in a rough sea. The only way we will choose good over evil is when we are enabled by God. We live in an impossible universe where we think we have to rely on our own power, only to find that we need God's power to succeed.
