I'm not referring to a political campaign when I say that life has a purpose that God has designed for us. Rather, I'm laughing because, in life, we all have a role that God has designed for us. However, because wars and suffering on a global scale are orchestrated by God, it doesn't mean that He desires to end all suffering in a short period of time. Instead, the gospel is a radical message of deliverance that comes from God Himself. I'm not sure if it's exactly "peace through strength," but the gospel is the work of God to bring His people into His kingdom. The gospel is not a passive message. We are called to fight for God's kingdom, but we need to be aware of what His purposes for us are in order to fight effectively. The gospel is not simply about implementing social reform according to what God demands, as this teaching is not really biblical. The gospel is about what God has done in history, what He is doing now, and what He will do in the future. God does not need people to join His army of spiritual beings in order to display His glory. He goes out and does His own work of righteousness, completely apart from the need for human participation. The history of the world is only real insofar as it is placed within the larger context of redemption.History can teach us a lot, but it's only one perspective. We need to be careful not to put our trust only in what history has to say, because it's only one piece of the puzzle. The gospel shows us that God is always on the side of His people, no matter what happens, and that He intervenes in times of conflict to help them. All communication between the past and present is based on our own understanding. This means that our understanding of the past provides the foundation for making judgments about the present, and the gospel is the assurance that God has chosen specific events in time to accomplish a specific purpose. This way of looking at the world is what the Bible describes as trusting reliance on a sovereign God. Our fight is not against human weapons – it is against the spiritual forces of evil. Our spiritual fathers encouraged us "to trust in God alone", and "it was not through their power that they won the battle.Call upon me in the day of trouble, and I will answer you, and you will honor me." Wow, that's kind of in the context of the Gospel of John "I'm in you and you're in me." Not only does God do the work, but He produces the union. It is a kind of turning man away from taking glory. We actually progress through our weaknesses. "Your hand was meant to do good, and your eyes shone with the light of faith."The gospel has the power to turn the world on its head, and God will not let us share in His work on any large scale. So the best way to find peace is to use spiritual weapons to fight for His glory alone.God does the righteous things He does because they are the right thing to do, and they are an expression of His good character. The history of the nations is a testimony to the goodness of God. It is difficult for us to understand, but when we humble ourselves and consider how small we are in comparison to the grandeur of history, we gain a greater understanding through God's hand. We see the work of God beyond our own borders, and it is a battle between good and evil. We are part of God's forces on the side of good, and we will continue to fight until the end.I understand that there are many factors that need to be taken into account when it comes to protecting oneself. However, I do not believe that this is the only way to find salvation. The point is that our communication with God is unique and should be based on doctrine, not on the way the world operates. We use doctrines in prayer to guide our events, and when we get to heaven we will be surprised to see what God considered important in His plan. He will have done things in a way that is completely different from what we had imagined.
