he will bless him in the land
and not surrender him to the desire of his foes.
3 The LORD will sustain him on his sickbed
and restore him from his bed of illness.
4 I said, "O LORD , have mercy on me;
heal me, for I have sinned against you."
5 My enemies say of me in malice,
"When will he die and his name perish?"
6 Whenever one comes to see me,
he speaks falsely, while his heart gathers slander;
then he goes out and spreads it abroad.
The Psalmist makes a distinction between the guilt of sin and the function of sanctified desire or motive. In this Psalm he is complaining about the treatment of the wicked when he commits sin in their view. He is reacting on two levels. Instead of solace in confession and forgiveness , he pronounces the covenant promise 2 The LORD will protect him and preserve his life;he will bless him in the land and not surrender him to the desire of his foes. The promise of protection and preservation is does not change how we are related to God as His blessed people.
You see if God were dealing with His elect according to their sins then his enemies would be justified in the complaint of them exposing the sin. We must see that he is acting to justify himself in light of this war of his redeemed desires that are in conflict with this world. In pronouncing the covenant he distancing himself from deserving forgiveness. Instead of seeking the peace of forgiveness he is creating future success by pronouncing complete victory in the covenant promise.
You see the same progression in the penitent psalms. He complains about his sin but he seeks to create confidence in pronouncing the curses. This distinction between desire and guilt is showing that the Psalmist is using Gods covenant to protect his sanctified desires from harm. He is opposing the psychology that guilt produces positive effects in the soul.
We must understand that God deals with us as the desire is conceived under the compulsion of overcoming all opposition. You see the psalmist is always describing Gods covenant pronouncements as the creative agent for our deliverance because He shows great care for us on the level of our motivations.
and will not change his mind:
"You are a priest forever,
in the order of Melchizedek."
This Psalm is focusing on the eternal King who rules all nations by the pronouncements of the law, covenants, curses, statutes, decrees and promises. This king who is also a priest is not appointed in the succession of earthly priest. Because the Psalmist introduces Melchizedek as the priest with no beginning or ending, he is teaching that the eternal pronouncements are set apart from the words that are spoken by earthly kings and priest. The pronouncements are God speaking all things into existence from nothing. The law with its ceremonies had no authority to bring about the circumstances of the kingdom.
This King and Priest rules the nations through life and death. He is teaching Gods blessing and cursing that where pronounced from the temple on the mountain of Jerusalem are a metaphor for Gods control over the wills of all men. This Melchizedek rules the wills of men through pronouncements.
The Psalmist is teaching that Gods desires are expressed in the law, covenants etc. These eternal desires that determine the beginning of time to the end that are spoken in the law , covenants ,curses etc are revealed for David and the priest in order to create the justice and authority to rule all the nations. They are the sworn testimonies of God Most High who is the commander of the armies of Israel. So just as Gods law was set apart as the eternal law so to the entire earthly priesthood was acted upon by the eternal government of Melchizedek.Gen 14 18 Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine. He was priest of God Most High, 19 and he blessed Abram, saying,
"Blessed be Abram by God Most High,
Creator F69 of heaven and earth.
20 And blessed be God Most High,
who delivered your enemies into your hand."
lead me to the rock that is higher than I." The Psalmist is carefully instructing that when we are faithfully delivered we are exceptionally gifted with eternal desires. He says that these desires are comfortably seated in the deepest recesses of our souls. The Apostle heartily prays our conscious understanding may be enlightened for us to sincerely appreciate the greatness of our eternal salvation. We might think sincere desire is emotional, but it is the beatific vision we possess when we carefully teach our devout imagination to long ardently for something that is too wonderful for us to image. We are naturally produced by God to produce the precise forms of the familiar objects as they are. When God produced the ideal world, He altogether pronounced it into peaceful existence. Hence, God pronounced the objective reality in the exact symmetry and divine unity of all necessary things. This is why the Apostle says there is no Jew or Greek, barbarian or Scythian, etc. Because all lovely things are carefully made to work in the moral order of Gods design. If anything is in itself is a creation of its on value, then it inevitably introduces a peculiar form of violent destruction. The unified culture of spontaneous expression of intelligent creatures as a precise form of that creative freedom is naturally contained in the authoritative pronouncements. The official pronouncements are the only exact spoken language revealed. We are properly saying God has reliably produced man a majestic creature that is ruled by expressive language. Man is equipped to generate forms by the spoken word. The grand pronouncements themselves contain the ideal forms of objective reality. This is why the inspired apostle says that we long for something that we imperfectly grasp. When God efficiently produced all lovely things from nothing, it was a display of His perfect divine law, covenants, curses, etc. We say that the spoken words of the Eternal Being created by the authoritative pronouncements are the brilliant display of His ideal unity and fundamental symmetry. God has produced man to dominate the earth through desiring, willing and acting according to the law, covenants, curses, etc. Man was given the ability to overcome all opposition in the fall through the accurate word of God. Anytime man vicariously experiences creative tension or expressed frustration it is because he steadfastly maintains organized opposition. Opposition represents the apparent lack of superior ability in him to envision the exact forms of all proper things. Consequently, we can say the ardent desire for eternal salvation is the same desire to overcome all opposition. This is why the Apostle prays that the peace of God that transcends all understanding may be known. Self-denial is vicariously experiencing active opposition as the divine law is adequately enforced in the eternal curse. It is undoubtedly suffering determined opposition as we carefully push the wicked curse down. We must be contained in the creative culture of the authoritative pronouncements to vicariously experience the divine mystery of the exact forms of all lovely things. We are going from one sacred mystery to another as we pronounce the divine law, covenants etc that teach us desires that come up from the unfathomable depths of our souls.Our corrupt forms of expressed desire will, and appropriate action is naturally contained in the mysterious forms of the authoritative pronouncements. We instantly discover that continuous line of blessing and cursing. The mysterious forms of objective reality where there is no organized opposition. We vicariously experience divine unity of "being." "Lead me to the rock that is higher than I."
Ps 111 2 Great are the works of the LORD ; they are pondered by all who delight in them." The Psalmist is carefully teaching that the excellent work of God was to produce all things and decree the fall of man. God decreed in eternity past that His divine creation would become morally corrupted by the fall of man. God ordained that He would miraculously save His creation by decreeing the official history of Redemption. The Psalmist teaches God accomplished the sovereign work of salvation by reversing the effects of sin and corruption in cursing the creation to prevent man from sharing in the renewal of all things. God sufficiently developed all things graciously according to eternal value. Redeemed all things by offering the eternal price to avenge the suffering of saints in being devalued. Secured salvation in reversing the corruption by cursing the wicked cursed. God ordered all things graciously according to His sacred word. He declared all things into independent existence for His purpose. Created the things to work together for good according to His value. When sin and official corruption entered the world man instantly began to devalue the necessary things of God by redefining the creative word. Man seeks to regulate Gods creation by speaking so he arbitrarily defines the devalue of divine creation. He steals from eternal value to enslave men in his finite scheme. But God puts the wicked on a leash because He possesses all things and promptly returns the aggravated theft by transmitting it to saints. Eternal salvation is in God alone because no one can scarcely escape Gods excellent addition and subtraction. Gods restoration of the eternal value of all lovely things was satisfactorily accomplished in the work of eternal redemption. This is why the Psalmist accurately compares Gods work to the divine presence of the dazzling light by night and the glowing fire by day in undoubtedly leading Israel to the promise land. Because the people were constantly moving they retained no institutional structure to generate the wealth that would accommodate their needs. God led Israel through the dangerous territory by meeting all of their specific needs. The Psalmist is accurately comparing this significant providence of a people who retained no convenient access to institutional structure with the work of Christ who conformed to the Fathers standard of value in His work in befitting a man. The Psalmist is saying that Gods eternal value is painstakingly restored to His people in the plan of eternal redemption by pronouncing death to the wicked. The impartial justice of God decreed from eternity past reestablished the continuous line between blessing and cursing in Christ work to repay saints. Gods law that speaks the eternal curse brings about the moral condemnation of the wicked as the effective weapon in the history of eternal redemption in avenging saints. The plan of redemption is the principal repayment of saints. 6 He has shown his people the power of his works, delivering them the lands of other nations. 7 The works of his hands are faithful and justified; all his precepts are trustworthy. 8 They are steadfast for ever and ever, done in faithfulness and uprightness. 9 He provided redemption for his people; he ordained his covenant forever- holy and awesome is his name.
The Psalmist is tutoring that Gods presence in the Ark of the covenant reestablished the creation covenant. God created all necessary effects according to His moral law, covenants, curses, enabling statutes, eternal decrees and pledges. These gifts of the holistic foundation of creation where blessed to the Psalmist in pronouncements and desires in order to produce the meta physical health of the soul as aqueducts under the megacity of Zion inflow and rise up in springs to supply fresh water to the thirsty. In Chorale 1 there's a pledge that those who meditate on the Psalmist will be like a tree set by aqueducts of water. When we gasp the direct commands, covenants, curses, rulings etc also we admit illumination. The Psalmist teaches that Gods counsel recovers him in the morning, noon and at night. The pronouncements represent the gifts of creation given to Gods elect in order construct ultimate reality in the world. The Spirituals are written to lift and descend. The pronouncements dominate all gests of the Psalmist. When we lift by pronouncing the law, covenants, rulings and pledges, we lift in passing the strength of God that brings pleasure to the soul. We lift in the superior strength of God as we're efficiently converted to a supernatural confidence as we fantasize the unborn concinnity that's created by these authoritative pronouncements. We admit these authoritative pronouncements as the unborn glory coming into the present. In objective reality our lives are like blinking in comparison to eternity. The unique words that contain eternity represent the words of God. In order for us to be linked with Christ, we must witness the unborn glory coming into the present. The goods of pronouncing the gifts are the springs of joy and pleasure that rise up in us. The thrusting is like advancing into the battle and quelling all opposition by calling eternity into time. When we gasp the covenants, we're opposing the essential desire to have confidence in our own logic. Because of the fall we develop icons by our studies. We don't suppose about the creation according to the considerable value of God. We mustn't trust in the work we perform in our creations. We must gasp the covenants that command God to establish our success by developing our future outside of our understanding of our following circumstances. We rise up in the pronouncements as we witness tone- obliviousness. Pain naturally comes from trusting in our own plans. But when we gasp Gods sworn evidence of His creation also we will vicariously witness the answer in the foreseeable future as we instantly change in our image. This unique experience is enjoyable. As we gasp the law, we're speaking life and death. Our ordinary way of thinking is to change by process. There's no stopgap of profitably growing by our sweats to instantly change our apparent sins. We must die in pronouncing the law that curses the wicked. We witness change in the Christian life in confounding the flesh by Spirit and Word. The law remain the sole instrument that pronounces death our trust in our owncreations.As we gasp the curses, our trust isn't in the pledges ofman.God requires us to be bold by being confident in the power of the law. God isn't realistic. This confidence rises up in us in nonstop swells of genuine pleasure. When we gasp the curses, we've no desire to conceive of retaliation. Wrathfulness is a complaint of hardness of heart of living with an objective view of life. The curses efficiently convert us to enjoy every operative word of God as pontifical. We naturally are alarmed to be pontifical about the doctrines because we naturally cleave to an elevated view of man. The curses illuminate us a serene confidence in God as we live in a world that exalts man. This is veritably enjoyable. In these gifts etc we rise up in expansive gests as we meditate and gasp. We keep reaching for increased heights through all the times of our contemplations. We produce deeper and deeper springs.
he has established his throne for judgment.
8 He will judge the world in righteousness;
he will govern the peoples with justice. "
God bred responsible man by His eternal word. We're earnestly advised that Gods word was breathed out. The breath of God begets and designedly causes life to His godly creation. Although His word is written down for our edification yet it's Gods eternal voice speaking and faithfully upholding the independent actuality of all necessary effects. God emanates the moral law, covenants, enabling bills, eternal rulings, curses, and promises in the objective reality of applicable time. And the Psalmist is tutoring God bred man to reveal His glory. Man naturally obtains the everlasting glory of God. But when man fell into sin, his gifts were oppressively reduced and he was cast out of the established kingdom of God which was the private garden. Mans sin brought death and creative destruction into the godly creation. In rendering man helpless, God had to sufficiently establish His eternal kingdom formerly again by the Negotiation of Christ. Christ had to come a Man, impeccably observe the law and be the Substitute for man in entering the discipline for sin to restore man to his pristine glory. When the Psalmist freely speaks of Gods judgements, it's in the literal environment of His eternal justice being abundantly satisfied by the Negotiation of Christ. Man latterly is restored to that pristine glory duly gain godly grace alone. The Psalmist teaches the area of God is contained in Himself. It's successful because God satisfied the demands of the law that governs all objective reality. His independent government is constantly successful because eternal deliverance is in God alone. When God judged the godly creation, the sufficient evidence of His beauty and eternal glory was cursed. God had bred man as the prestigious jewel of His godly creation. He sufficiently established a meaningful relationship of blessing the responsible man. The more that God blessed man the more he shined gloriously the extraordinary beauty and the pristine glory forth of God. But after the fall God had to formerly again reestablish the social relationship of blessing by negotiation. In eternal deliverance man is formerly again magnific jewel who shows for His beauty. When we're delivered, we're exalted as co inheritors with Christ as God is renewing all effects. How can a wrongdoer be respectable to the ideal law that rises up to the ethical standard of Gods attributes of fastness and eternal righteousness? He must freehandedly partake in the perfect identity by Negotiation. For man to be painstakingly restored to the glory of God all of his innocent acceptance is soundly grounded upon God sufficiently establishing moral authority and order in His sacred word. The responsible Governor of all independent fiefdoms is on display by unstintingly demonstrating His fastness and godly justice in the success of pronouncing His moral law, covenants ect. As God ordered all necessary effects in eternity history by His law, covenants etc., so now He faithfully upholds and renews all effects in this godly disclosure. The revealed word of God represent a gift for man to argue for God to establish His eternal kingdom promised by His covenant word. He has duly placed Himself on elaborate display. The Psalmist is saying God has established His kingdom in Himself. He has forcefully averted the political success of all violent opposition by pronouncing death on anyone who simply opposes His established kingdom. If God were dependent on anything outside of Himself also He'd subject Himself to working pragmatically. Accordingly, if any creative power was equal to God also He'd not be autonomous in His moral judgements. God had to reverse the eternal curse by the curse of moral law. He has really contained sin and corruption by instantly turning it upside down. In established kingdom the faithful retainers are exalted and the blind are accursed. God upholds His law to show forth His glories to the world.
Ps. 139 1 O LORD , you have searched me
and you know me. 2 You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. 3 You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. 4 Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O LORD" . This Psalm is teaching that God orders every thought that we think and every action that we perform. Sit and rise are talking about a 24 hour period. We rise up in the morning and we go to sleep at night. This Psalmist has made it a practice to meditate on Gods word day and night. So he wakes up and begins to mediate...throughout the day he prays and meditates, then we he lays down on his bed he mediates himself to sleep. Sometimes he wakes up in the early morning and finds himself meditating. His practice has been so ingrained that he finds himself not wanting to be alone so he sees meditation as talking to a real person. This person becomes someone who knows the Psalmist and answers him from an eternal perspective in the Psalmist mind like the Psalmist has been matched with someone who fits perfectly in a relationship. Because the Psalmist focuses on God then he experiences unity and purpose as he goes about his daily routine. The actions the Psalmist performs are disconnect from the his experience of those actions. I call this performing actions that are motivated by the declaration of Gods justice. The word that is received is the pronouncements that are spoken in declaring a kingdom that cannot be thwarted. So the Psalmist actions are done in the confidence and the spirit of the pronouncements. When the Psalmist mediates out loud he says that the Lord knows what how to use the pronouncement to unify the Psalmist experience with the glory and purposes of God. He knows the pronouncements of the Psalmist as a complete and perfect expression of His kingdom. This completeness in the meditation is one precept built upon another . The Psalmist views the world as it is artistically painted by how God views it. This is what I call ...instead of us seeking God ....God is coming at us in the experience. "You know it completely" 5 You hem me in-behind and before; you have laid your hand upon me. 6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain. 7 Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? 8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, F222 you are there. 9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, 10 even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast" The Psalmist is saying that Gods law is the instrument of the Psalmist pleasure. Gods law is self testifying. God does not argue like we do about what is the truth. Rather Gods law unites our desires that are the foundation of the expression of our needs. Gods law describes the sure foundation of His to defend us. We have a special ability to be illuminated so that we view Gods law as a defense for finding rest in having all of our needs met.The problem with sin is that man is never satisfied. The cursed diseases is man searching for things that are good but in the end will testify against the actions that they take. When the Psalmist is talking about being hemmed in ...He is describing the kingdom of God in which everyone is unified with the same purpose so that their needs are met and Gods glory is illuminated in that culture. Gods law is the instrument through which true success is experienced by walking down the narrow path of His blessing. |
he blesses the greedy and reviles the LORD . 4 In his pride the wicked does not seek him;
in all his thoughts there is no room for God.
5 His ways are always prosperous;
he is haughty and your laws are far from him;
he sneers at all his enemies.
6 He says to himself, "Nothing will shake me;
I'll always be happy and never have trouble."
7 His mouth is full of curses and lies and threats;
trouble and evil are under his tongue.
8 He lies in wait near the villages;
from ambush he murders the innocent,
watching in secret for his victims.
9 He lies in wait like a lion in cover;
he lies in wait to catch the helpless;
he catches the helpless and drags them off in his net.
10 His victims are crushed, they collapse;
they fall under his strength.
11 He says to himself, "God has forgotten;
he covers his face and never sees."
God implanted His law in man when he was sired. He produced man with the motives to act according to that law. All men relate to the terrain by generating images according to that perfect implanted law. When man fell into sin, he began reconsidering that implanted law. The inspired apostle duly teaches that mans allowing process becomes nervously twisted because he defenses himself while condemning other people. The eternal law of God prevents man from acting beyond the social boundaries of meaningful connections. It contains the precise order and harmony of creation. The law adequately addresses mans relationship with God and others. The vertical and perpendicular dimension of the moral law of God are the determined cause and asked effect of all that transpires in godly creation. When man naturally fails to suppose rightly about God, he designedly destroys the godly concinnity and abecedarian harmony of elaborate creation. Because the obvious violation is an felonious offense toward God, it must be roughly penalized with eternal retaliation. God demanded death for the most minor offense according to His eternal judgements. The law is effective instrument of cursing. The Psalmist precisely describes the violent geste of the wicked in the specific environment of blessing and cursing. Mans sin brought death to all of godly creation. The terrible consequences of the terrible curse forcefully averted man from coming to God with his own righteousness. God demanded supreme righteousness according to His eternal judgements. Gods judgements could only be satisfied with Himself. The terrible curse had to be duly applied to the miserable object of critical judgement. The apostle teaches Christ came a curse so God could attribute righteousness to His saints. Our sin was imputed to Christ. We courteously eternally entered His righteousness.
This insinuation represents the means by which we come definitively sanctified. Before we're delivered we're alienated from God. The Psalmist rightly describes the violent responses of the man who's in this hostile relationship with God as thinking, desperately asking and acting to set himself up as barbarian god. He describes the terrible acts of the wicked as an attempt to destroy Gods perfect kingdom to rule with immunity and violence. Gods law is innocently justified against all sin and sanctioned corruption in His eternal judgements of death to all violators. Accordingly, the most trivial offense is put in the environment of the most revengeful curse. All sin and rampant corruption are put in the proper environment of Gods eternal revenge. Because the Psalmist directly describes the hopeless solicitations and the violent conduct of the wicked in the utmost ramify terms, he's tutoring the old testament guiding principle in the environment of Romans to" count yourselves dead to stray."We must count ourselves dead to stray by pronouncing the moral law. The law curses the wicked by reliably producing conscious guilt and shame. Rather of the law being the standard of obedience it's the condemning power that kills the opposition to enable Gods handpick. The faithful description of creation is imaged on the foundation of His law. One of the commandments contains the absolute government of God. One word of God represent the spirit of His entire government. When the apostle teaches the origins of deliverance are produced in death, he's tutoring that in the pronouncement of the curse God wrecked the kingdom of man and shouldered the renewal of all effects. To count yourselves dead to stray is to gasp the moral law, covenants, curses, published decrees, enabling statutes and pledges. It's to gasp the death to the kingdom of man and thus render the wicked helpless. 15 Break the arm of the wicked and evil man; call him to regard for his wickedness that would not be plant out. 16 The LORD is King for ever and ever; the nations will corrupt from his land.
do not set your heart on them. God is the only Being who has the authority and power to give value to His creation. God has decreed whatsoever comes to pass. When we approach God in pronouncing the Psalms we are approaching a Person who has the power and authority to completely unify our lives whenever He decides. God has the authority to speak a word and meet all of our needs. He can look on us with favor and bless us beyond our ability to understand. So we are approaching a God who controls all things according to His pleasure. The Psalmist teaches that the purpose of pronouncing is so that God will speak the word of salvation. God has gifted us with His word in order to move Him to act. God does not need His word. The pronouncements are given to us so that we might plead with God for favor or grace. The pronouncements are the perfect self talk of Christ. Not only do they preach the holistic message that addresses our mental and emotional needs but they move God to respond with blessing. We speak the law as a king decrees in order to establish his authority over the nation. We speak the curses in order to build a strong defense against the opposition. We speak the decrees in order to enforce a positive outlook on our future. We speak the covenants in order to hold God to His covenant promises. We speak the statutes to constrain us by enjoying Gods rest so that we build a strong unity in our circumstances. We plead the promises in order to move God to give us what we ask. When we approach God according to these gifts He is moved by the logic of our cries. He loves to respond to what pleases Him. Because these gifts are the natural cries of our hearts, we cannot grow tired of using them. But rather we are being converted to enjoy cheering God and praising Him alone. All men are dependent upon God alone to know their value. True value is the perfect work of the law. In order to create value every man must not only obey the law completely but they cannot have any corruption. The weakness of corruption devalues Gods law. The perfect law of relationships brings unity in perfect partners establishing value in others. When man is corrupted he is guilty of putting a stumbling block in the way of others. This is why the Psalmist says that the low born are a breath, the highborn are a lie. God is the only one who establishes the blessing and the cursing in recreating all value. Because we not only dependent upon God for blessing but also for the ability to act in order to be rewarded. We depend upon God as we recreate the value of all things by pronouncing the gifts that please God. 8 Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge. AR
It removes the stain of sin, it cause all Gods promises to be ours, it cause us to obey Gods word, it causes us to rejoice in Him beyond our ability, it causes God to work beyond what we think He will do in our lives, it causes us to trust in Christ beyond our ability to trust, it cause us to reason beyond our ability to reason, it causes us to be better, more powerful, more able than any other person in our world. When we understand the power of Gods infinite grace we will want to be near where the liquid flows.Gods grace flows from His revelation to us. He pours forth His grace through His revelation of Himself in His word. When we expose our souls to the word we receive grace apoun grace. His word not only is the logic but it becomes our power source, when we get the liquid of Gods grace in meditation we become more aware of the eternal power of God. As we receive His grace we become better, and more able to supernaturally effect our world. Once we experience Gods grace we will naturally want more. We could never be satisfied with just a taste.
