This approach often leads to a diminishing of the importance of exercising our willpower in engaging with our physical bodies and the material world. Many individuals tend to resort to extreme rhetoric, believing that success lies in offering step-by-step advice to solve problems. However, it is important to understand that every aspect of the Christian experience, both in the past and present, has been guided by God and serves as an integral part of our spiritual journey. Therefore, when discussing the Christian life, it is crucial to avoid falling into the trap of focusing solely on extremes.

As previously mentioned, humans possess inherent potential for both good and evil in their physical and spiritual beings, which manifests in our innate need for a higher power. This need for God is essential for our survival, as it provides a solid foundation beyond our current experiences. Our salvation cannot be found within ourselves alone, but rather requires us to apply theological knowledge in order to embrace mystery. The purpose of the Psalms is to teach us how to transcend our individual limitations and communicate with God. Our ability to argue persuasively from a place of mystery is a reflection of God shaping our desires and motives. Ultimately, our goal is to convey our gifts in a way that convinces even those who may seem resistant to belief.
