Whenever the topic of love arises, it is often discussed in the context of actions or deeds. Those who believe that love is simply a compromise between our efforts and God's efforts fail to grasp the true essence of biblical love. Love, in fact, serves as a manifestation of the significance we attribute to the person or object of our affection. Consequently, if we consistently fail to appreciate and value the individuals or things that warrant genuine love, how can we claim to truly understand what love entails? The reality is that we do not possess an abundant reservoir of love that enables us to wholeheartedly love others with our every fiber - mentally, emotionally, and physically. As a result, whenever we fall short of this lofty standard of love, we begin to doubt the authenticity of our relationships and question our own self-worth. This vicious cycle of doubt and self-depreciation is primarily responsible for our lack of confidence and sense of personal value.

This is why it is crucial for us to acknowledge that God's love for us comes first. We are faced with a decision: either we recognize and appreciate God's love for us, which gives us inherent worth, or we choose to live a life that tries to balance adherence to rules with expressions of love, mistakenly believing that our own abilities to love can meet the standards set by the law. The significance of understanding how God has demonstrated His love for us lies in the fact that His love fosters self-acceptance and personal value. In simpler terms, by focusing on how God has loved us, we develop love for others within ourselves. It is akin to emptying a sink of water and then replenishing it by turning on the faucet. We should be aware of the source from which we receive love, so that it remains highly appealing to us and we constantly seek more of it. No one desires to be hated in order to feel loved. Love is synonymous with law, as it encompasses discipline and even failures. God embodies love, hence any relationship we have with Him is rooted in love.

Love is a manifestation of God's presence in our lives, as He is the creator of all things. If there were any other explanation for the creation of the world, it would undermine the ability of an unchanging will to express love towards us. To suggest that love is merely a sentimental feeling and is demonstrated by granting freedom to others would leave us devoid of genuine hope for true love. Genuine love is resolute and unwavering. God showcases His love for us through the act of creation, as He is love itself and has fashioned the beauty of this world according to His divine will. Consequently, all the blessings we enjoy are given to us by a merciful God. In essence, we are not discussing a God influenced by popular opinion, promises, or regulations, but rather a God who graciously provides us with good things to appreciate solely out of His kindness. It is crucial to comprehend that in order to demonstrate His love for us, God has taken the initiative and done all the necessary work so that, through His love, we can embrace and accept everything that comes our way in this life.

God differs from man in that man often makes promises he cannot fulfill, offering only temporary cheer and encouragement. On the other hand, God brings about true change and offers tangible benefits to us. If God only communicated with us from heaven, we would not fully understand His faithfulness, patience, grace, and compassion. It is only through God's love and provision of all things for us to enjoy that we are truly encouraged in our faith. In essence, God fills our metaphorical tank with His promise to always love us.
