Grace grants us the capacity to rise above our circumstances, regardless of whether our actions are deemed right or wrong. It is a deeply personal force that transcends the individual factors influencing our behavior. Without grace, we would be devoid of hope. Human endeavor cannot secure grace; it is not contingent upon any specific event or reaction that would elicit a greater or lesser response from God. Grace exists entirely independently, free from any quantification. To measure grace would diminish its essence, transforming it into a mere act. The true measure of grace lies in its ability to bestow worth without cost, irrespective of the circumstances, be they dire or delightful. Thus, grace operates on a dual level. Firstly, it endows us with the gift of self-protection as a response to our surroundings. Secondly, it facilitates both justice and forgiveness as further manifestations of its presence. Through grace, we gain a perspective that imbues events with intrinsic value, as we comprehend the necessity of God's actions within them. Consequently, grace liberates us from being defined by people, events, or our reactions to them. All we need to do is humbly request more grace; any other action would constitute labor.
