The history of the world encompasses the entire story of Redemption. God has established an everlasting covenant with mankind, known as the grace covenant, wherein He bestowed His moral law upon Israel and continually accepted them through His sovereign grace. Even before the world began, God had planned to abundantly provide for humanity. However, when sin entered the world, mankind misused God's generous gifts to intentionally bring destruction upon themselves and the earth. Interestingly, God had also ordained this sin and destruction. Every event in human history has been predetermined by God, who governs all things. When God graciously offered salvation, He successfully accomplished this task within Himself. Therefore, no aspect of the world's history lacks God's just satisfaction. Prior to the creation of the world, God decreed that every action would be subject to His absolute justice, meaning that sin and righteousness both carry appropriate consequences. The judgment for all sin had already been decreed before the world's foundation. God's unwavering disapproval of sin has always been sealed in His eternal wrathGod's eternal covenant of grace, bestowed upon the saints, is seemingly founded on His own work and will. The story of redemption is God's precious gift to His Son, who must rightfully place all things under His authority. God's disdainful attitude towards sin and the destruction it brings, as well as righteousness, can be compared to a scale weighing the immense value of Christ's work on one side and the judgment of sin on the other. God consistently marks every instance of destruction and evil, which collectively contribute to the significant weight of accurate judgment He delivers upon the wicked. Nothing occurs in this world that is beyond God's control and evaluation. The judgments of God, which have existed since before the world began, are written as authoritative pronouncements of curses. Every declaration made by God is completely successful because it is fully satisfied within Himself. The Psalmist's plea to God for effective relief graciously, according to His Name, means that the Psalmist is seeking help from God as the only source of true relief. Help us, O God our Savior, for the glory of your name.
