The gift of salvation that God offers us is not contingent on anything we have done. Rather, it is a result of His great mercy and love. This gift of grace is given to us freely and abundantly, not merely out of His mercy or grace, but out of His great love for us. Our salvation does not start with our decision, but with God acting towards us. In other words, while we were still in our sins, Christ acted by dying for us. It is not according to what we did that saved us, but it is according to His great mercy. This is a New Testament word for the Old Testament teaching of salvation being gifted to us through God's unfailing love. When we examine the mechanics of salvation, it is described as a free gift of grace given to us by God's great abundance, not merely His mercy or His grace. The mercy and grace of God are beyond abundant. It is a never-ending stream that is poured out into our hearts, which produces a deep-seated joy and thankfulness. Everyone who belongs to God hears the words of God. The reason you don't hear them is because you don't belong to God.The bible contains many references to God's attributes which are invisible to us. This helps us to understand that He is a spirit who is eternal and present everywhere. This means that He is separate from the things He creates. God reveals Himself to us through His word, which is also known as the word of salvation. This word contains God's covenant with us, and it is only through a spiritual understanding of this covenant that we can truly know Him. In other words, we can only understand God and His purpose for us by reading and studying the bible. This revelation of God is compared to His word being purified seven times. It is tried and tested and is the only word that saves man. God has proven Himself faithful to His covenant by doing the work necessary to prove His word of promise. It is finished. But men are born as sinners who sin is missing the mark or its like a branch that is crooked. We think of it in word form its man devising evil schemes by speaking falsely about God or misrepresenting themselves. All of this leads to man being cut off from God and His righteousness. But, in the end, those who have been purified by God's word and have remained faithful to Him will be saved. The bible says that humans are born with a tendency towards deceit and that this manifests in their plans and actions. They seek after idols and place value on things that only God deserves. This is a form of worshiping created things rather than the Creator. The bible describes the wicked in sin as their thoughts are futile and always going astray. So any thought that is not in agreement with revealed truth is destructive. This is missing the mark. Men sin in their thoughts long before they act wickedly. In order for men to begin to think thoughts after God, God must implant His word in men.
