If one attempts to provide practical guidance or assumes the role of simplifying an individual's standing before God, they are essentially inviting numerous complexities upon themselves. This is primarily due to the fact that it is impossible to comprehend the innermost thoughts of another person's mind. When stating that an individual has been saved due to their profession or alteration in lifestyle, it implies that the individual has undergone a transformation of their inner being. This transformation can be identified as a change of heart. However, claiming certainty in discerning such a change of heart may suggest the ability to read hearts, thus potentially equating to the capacity to judge as God does. In my academic opinion, utilizing scripture as a basis for discernment in situations where individuals are grappling with sinful conduct is imperative. It is critical to acknowledge that one's outward demeanor can be misleading, as an individual who appears virtuous may harbor malevolent intentions. Endeavoring to distinguish the internal workings of an individual's heart can be a daunting task. It is crucial to acknowledge that individuals who have deviated from their religious convictions can still attain redemption. Nonetheless, those who have spurned the impact of the Holy Spirit in their existence might require divine intervention to facilitate their renewal. The concept of divine grace posits that it possesses the ability to reinstate a person who has deviated from their religious beliefs and may even stimulate them to express remorse for their actions. Nonetheless, it is challenging to anticipate the result of an individual's spiritual expedition, especially in terms of their cognition and sentiments during their demise. The belief that someone can forfeit their salvation after being redeemed is not an all-encompassing doctrine since it is founded on the presumption of comprehending the authentic essence of a person's innermost being.
