I want to discuss the concept of perseverance in relation to the curse of Adam's original sin. Because of Adam's disobedience, God has cursed this world and those who are in Adam. The curse is not only physical death, but it also includes being subject to eternal punishment. There is no human being who can thwart, avoid, or lessen the eternal curses of God's law. Everyone is under the bondage of the law of God because everyone is under the powerful curses of failing to accomplish what is in the law. God's law is a curse to those who cannot obey it, and thus, everyone is under the curse of death and eternal punishment.A curse can be seen as a self-destructive desire to forego eternal salvation. As God has made clear, anyone who refuses to believe in Him will ultimately bring about their own demise. Throughout history, we see countless examples of people who seek death but cannot find it. They long to die, but death always seems to evade them. The reason why people under a curse want to destroy themselves is because the power of the law is part of the death process. The curse is so painful that people would rather die than live with it, but God determines when justice will be served. Men are not just held in sin, but they are also held in this destructive relationship to the curses of the law.No believer in his right mind would want to get close to the curses of the law. These curses are powerful and could potentially cause great harm to the believer.
