I believe that Jesus was very insightful in the way He interacted with people and dealt with situations. He didn't let anyone else dictate His actions or tell Him what to do, and I think that's something we can all learn from. Having the freedom to be ourselves and express our gifts in our own unique ways is something that we should all strive for.I think that the main problem is that we often feel like it is pointless to try and help other people, even though it can make us feel good and have a sense of purpose. I think that it is possible to get to a place where we accept God and stop putting people and situations into different categories. Instead, we would just appreciate God by enjoying other people. So, the question is, have we been loved by God enough that we are okay with knowing that no matter what the situation is, His love is always much better than anything we could do for someone else?I believe that what I am trying to communicate is that it takes a great deal of focus and introspection to remain in the present moment when we are in a situation that we would typically try to avoid. We often distract ourselves in these moments because it provides us with a sense of control that we typically don't have. People are taught to expect something in return when they trust others, so they are constantly looking for something that will complete the circle. This is what Jesus was attempting to free us from. Many of us often seek validation and approval from others, particularly from men, in order to feel loved and fulfilled. However, this often leads to disappointment, because we are constantly chasing an ideal that may never be attained. It is better to try to be satisfied with what we have, rather than constantly striving for something that may be out of reach. We are always under the tyranny of our unfulfilled expectations. This is something we are good at doing in our own power. I do not doubt that people are psychologically damaged to the extent that this is the only safe trade off for them. In some ways, we are all like this.
