It is my belief that the relationship between people all over the world and the concept of Original Sin is not as distant as some may think. We are all relational creatures, and as a result our interactions with each other are based on our relationships with others. To distance Original Sin from our interactions with others would be to teach ourselves to think in a way that is divided, instead of thinking in a way that connects us all.The world is full of people who are blinded by sin and cannot see the truth that is necessary to understand real relational connection. However, we have the ability to see the truth as a holistic, healthy view of the world. This difference allows us to have healthy relationships with others. It is our belief that Adams's sin is a very simple problem because the solution is also simple. This is why there is so much neurosis in the world, because people are constantly trying to expand upon their areas of weakness, which only creates new problems. In order to develop a holistic understanding of what constitutes a healthy world view, we must wage a war of attrition against the various real causes of the global crisis. The gospel is not about us trying to reach up to God; it is about God coming down to us. This is good news because it means we can have hope. Without free and easy access to a holy God, we would be constantly trying to appease Him and would never be sure if we had done enough. But the gospel tells us that God has already accomplished everything we need for salvation. We can rest in that and have hope.
