Ps 44 18 Our hearts had not turned back; our feet had not strayed from your path."The Psalms teach that God has a stable government on this earth through Israel. God is always in charge and He has a plan for everything. God is the one who sets up all the good, lawful governments. He always follows through on His promises, so we can trust Him to keep us safe and healthy. The nations are subject to the law of the land, which means that they are reviewed by the eternal court to see if their laws are fair and just. God generally sets up rulers who are profane, by decisively changing their governments from the top down. Because a corrupt government cannot be blessed by God. Governments need to make wise decisions, treating everyone with justice and fairly enforcing law. The composer teaches when sin invaded the better world, it caused ethical corruption. While law is neutral, unethical behavior is not. Any person who tries to change the definition of God's word will only cause more conflict and violence. When God overthrows authoritarian governments, He eliminates the corrupt and lawless use of power. Adam and Eve sinned and God cursed the creation. God then made a creature to punish us. God created man and made a covenant with him in the garden. This covenant was meant to be a special relationship between God and man. It was meant to be a place of peace and harmony. God quickly punished people who sin to reverse the fall so they would have a government that is based on ideal principles of unity. God lifted the evil curse by the eternal curse of the law in order to create a new world. The composer believes that God has communicated the fundamental truths about unity and safety in a way that is faithful to the divine. We often see that there is a strong connection between blessings and curses. God deliberately destroys the illegal confusion of earthly power within the fierce curse and unites His saints. Throughout the Old Testament, people interacted with Israel in a way that reflected the social norms of their time. This meant that people would often show respect for Israel and treat them with kindness. The circumcision ceremony is important to create responsible citizens. God will talk to the responsible nation in general, by focusing on the circumcised in the flesh and the circumcised in heart. God always speaks kindly to Israel, upholding justice in His words. Circumcision of the heart is generally the real price of keeping Israel from developing an increasingly aggressive culture of unlimited violence by redefining God's law, covenants, etc. God is responsible for keeping the saints safe from the violence in the culture. For those who are truly committed to the cause of God, He had to exile them from their homeland and take them into political exile. God is very protective of his fellow believers, and he often dominates the nations to keep them safe. He normally talks to people in a way that shows that He is the benevolent Creator, who orders all things necessary according to eternal law, covenants, curses, empowered statutes, and promises. God approves of the saints, and proves this by passing judgment on people who break the covenant.
