That was very revealing. I believe that Jesus destroyed every man's attempt to steer him in what they thought would be the best way to deal with people and situations. What does it mean for us to have this sense of freedom that we can all find? Express our intentions and gifts that go against human culture and prejudice?
I think it's because we see the futility of acting for another person even though we have a sense of satisfaction and purpose. I believe that it is possible to reach a place of acceptance with God so that we don't categorize situations but just enjoy God and enjoy other people. So the question is were we really loved enough of God to be content to know that in every situation His love was so deep that we couldn't try to get better by acting? I suppose if I could say that every time we find ourselves in a situation, it's a determined effort of self-reflection that we try not to be who we are. So it is a joy that we have in the self-forgetfulness that comes from a power that we do not have.
And I think people are taught to trust other people and expect something in return, so they're always looking for something to carry around in the circle, and that's what Jesus was trying to get us out of. To know that we are loved by a man.Because we are like two ships that go by in the night. The pursuit of expectations is more real than trying to be satisfied with our expectations fulfilled. So we are always under the tyranny of our unfulfilled expectations. We're good at that. In our own power and me have no doubt that people are so psychologically damaged that this is the only sure compensation for them somehow we are all like that.
