The theme of Psalm 49 is the process by which men become rich and gain followers is not the recreation. Gods axioms contain the natural course of the world. The curse always controls the course of the world.

Psalm 49 1 Hear this, all you peoples;listen, all who live in this world,2 both low and high, rich and poor alike:3 My mouth will speak words of wisdom;the utterance from my heart will give understanding." The Psalmist is adequately explaining the corrupt culture by which man promotes himself as heathen god by redefining the law, covenants, curses, decrees, statutes and promises. He is pronouncing containment of Gods kingdom in blessing and cursing. The riches constitute the shallow foundation for man to inevitably become heathen god and be irresistibly drawn into eternal judgment. The curses inevitably follow the divine creation of eternal rewards for the blessed.

49 3 My mouth will speak words of wisdom;the utterance from my heart will give understanding.4 I will turn my ear to a proverb;with the harp I will expound my riddle: The Psalmist pronounces the axioms to receive divine secrets. These secrets are oracles of wisdom. He is pronouncing blessing and cursing to control the course of the world. The riddle is the recreation of the world according to blessing and cursing behind the events that transpire. The events are not substantial. The world is recreated by pronounced axioms.

49 5 Why should I fear when evil days come, when wicked deceivers surround me--6 those who trust in their wealth and boast of their great riches?" The Psalmist inevitably ask pointed questions from a position of divine authority. The fundamental questions are in the specific form of eternal curses. The prophet who has eternal pronouncements on his lips is bringing charges against the wicked who redefines Gods natural law. Redefined law consistently follows men void of the axioms, who climb the ladder of notable success. The curses naturally follow the righteous judgements.

49 7 No man can redeem the life of another or give to God a ransom for him--8 the ransom for a life is costly,no payment is ever enough--9 that he should live on forever and not see decay." The world is recreated by the value of life and death pronouncements. The pronouncements trump the time contained riches. Redefining Gods natural law in becoming a prominent leader is trading eternal rewards for moral judgement. God properly contains the wicked course of redefined law in eternal pronouncements. This is pronouncing ongoing judgement to contain the leader until it is eternally adjudicated.

49 10 For all can see that wise men die;the foolish and the senseless alike perish and leave their wealth to others.11 Their tombs will remain their houses forever, their dwellings for endless generations, though they had named lands after themselves." The Psalmist pronounces the cursed prophecy in the divine creation of the ideal unity of the axioms. The unity properly contains the disunity by life and death prophecy. God  pronounced the eternal decrees in His eternal counsel. We are clearly pronouncing what God has already determined. God pronounced judgement before the divine creation of the world. As sure as we properly mark the wicked man is as sure as God has already pronounced his moral judgement.

49 12 But man, despite his riches, does not endure;he is like the beasts that perish.13 This is the fate of those who trust in themselves, and of their followers, who approve their sayings. Selah14 Like sheep they are destined for the grave, and death will feed on them. The upright will rule over them in the morning;their forms will decay in the grave, far from their princely mansions." When a leader merely borrows and redefines Gods value, devalues the divine creation, he is feeding himself. Eternal punishment will be justly feeding on him. The righteous suffering will be repaid in personally reminding them of the righteous who suffered. We evoke them to recollect our names. In this sense we are pronouncing the curses in feeding on them.

49 15 But God will redeem my life from the grave;he will surely take me to himself.Selah16 Do not be overawed when a man grows rich, when the splendor of his house increases;17 for he will take nothing with him when he dies, his splendor will not descend with him.18 Though while he lived he counted himself blessed--and men praise you when you prosper--19 he will join the generation of his fathers, who will never see the light [of life].20 A man who has riches without understanding is like the beasts that perish." The authoritative pronouncements properly contain the life and death decrees of God. No matter what notable success of the wicked, the authoritative pronouncements are never thwarted. We pronounce the foreseeable future until it undoubtedly comes into the historical present. We do not react to the historical events.
