The Psalmist carefully teaches Gods is angry with the wicked every day. How does God express His anger? God is wrathful for good reasons. His fierce anger is pronounced toward lawbreakers. The sole expression of justified anger is cursing the wicked. The Psalmist accurately describes Gods anger in adequate protection of His purposes. God is the consuming fire leading Israel through the rugged terrain to the promise land. He consumes their enemies on every side. God sufficiently established Israel by the gift of moral law. He did not choose heathen nations. The law represents a gift by the covenant. God never carries out the law without covenanting to perform for Israel by sworn faithfulness. Gods covenant is aggressively defending the lawful nation by bitterly cursing their enemies to shameful death. God established natural law to administer His attributed. He never lowered His faithfulness, justice, righteousness.God has always established a people for Himself. Not all Israel was spiritual Israel. God carried out His moral law for His chosen people. The law was the effective instrument of life and death. God cursed the formidable enemies of the faithful remnant to eternal death. The law is turned away toward our opposition in the curse establishing a covenant that protects us. God pronounces hundreds of eternal curses in our formidable defense. Gods anger is beyond our comprehensive understanding. When we speak the eternal curses, we are stunned at the terrible anger of God.
