Psalms 18 1 I love you, O Lord, my strength.2 The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer;my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold."
The Psalmist is carefully teaching a valuable theme of eternal salvation.Salvation is Gods work in the same way a warrior is victorious in fierce battles. The ultimate purpose of salvation is to inseparably unite our moral actions with the pronounced law, covenants, curses, decrees, statutes and promises. All Gods wars invariably end bringing blessing and cursing together. God is undoubtedly bringing unity of body and soul to gainfully employ our gifts in visible unity in our work by eliminating organized opposition. David weapons of successful war are apt metaphors for authoritative pronouncements gainfully employed to be victorious.
18 3 I call to the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and I am saved from my enemies." The king pronounces Gods holistic language in becoming a professional warrior. God does not need mans strength, effective weapons or military strategy. He merely pronounces the assured destruction of all organized opposition. David victories were altogether speaking the salvation of the axioms advancing to secure the blessing and cursing together.
18 4 The cords of death entangled me;the torrents of destruction overwhelmed me.5 The cords of the grave coiled around me;the snares of death confronted me." The king is gainfully employing an exaggeration in same way a magician is placed in isolation in a water tank rapped with complex chains. The mighty magician is appearing to achieve the impossible by breaking the chains. He is ceremoniously presenting the supernatural recreation of God who promptly orders all necessary things by simply thinking them into independent existence. The eternal pronouncements undoubtedly remain the supernatural powers of the redeemed man.
18 7 The earth trembled and quaked, and the foundations of the mountains shook;they trembled because he was angry.8 Smoke rose from his nostrils;consuming fire came from his mouth, burning coals blazed out of it." David is undoubtedly exaggerating the seeming insignificant pronouncements to Superman who promptly exposes His cape in coming to the rescue of the helpless who are in the nervous grasp of the overpowering criminal. The sacred words commanded the created earth to shake and the victorious armies of angelic heaven to descend into the fierce battle.
18 9 He parted the heavens and came down;dark clouds were under his feet.10 He mounted the cherubim and flew;he soared on the wings of the wind.11 He made darkness his covering, his canopy around him--the dark rain clouds of the sky." David is accurately describing this grand entrance as a divine mystery in faithfully recreating the historical events in this world by the authoritative pronouncements. Not only do the sacred words overpower the earth but consume us in divine mystery of impenetrable darkness and awe. The authoritative pronouncements are undoubtedly causing the created earth together in divine unity of blessing and cursing. Gods pronouncements are too great to willingly endure and far worse than we could devise in our most hot tempter. We are declaring devastating power.
18 12 Out of the brightness of his presence clouds advanced.with hailstones and bolts of lightning.13 The Lord thundered from heaven;the voice of the Most High resounded.14 He shot his arrows and scattered [the enemies],great bolts of lightning
and routed them."Gods pronouncements are eternal light, displayed power
in the great disasters of creation, and striking of fear into the hearts
of men spanning the entire world.
18 15 The valleys of the sea were exposed and the foundations of the earth laid bare at your rebuke, O Lord,at the blast of breath from your nostrils." We pronounce the stunning transparency of God. The authoritative pronouncements intentionally expose the universal evil of the visible world. The eternal pronouncements expose the continuous creation. Gods blast of breath in curses produce the massive disasters of creation and nations.
18 16 He reached down from on high and took hold of me;he drew me out of deep waters.17 He rescued me from my powerful enemy, from my foes, who were too strong for me." He is teaching the miraculous recreation as God controls the fierce enemies in efficiently delivering us. The simple eternal words shield us from the grand schemes of the Devil, miraculously escaping His clutch in the heat of the battle as God displays overpowering strength in quelling our opposition.
18 18 They confronted me in the day of my disaster, but the Lord was my support.19 He brought me out into a spacious place;he rescued me because he delighted in me." God gave intelligent man the magnificent garden to adequately provide our specific needs as we properly administered implanted law. We were never created to willingly endure organized opposition. You see we must quell all considerable opposition to experience freedom. When God efficiently delivers, we experience abundant blessing and cursing coming together in the same way David was victorious. When we have, curse the enemy to death is silenced. God unites our soul and body as the native garden by applying the axioms.
18 20 The Lord has dealt with me according to my righteousness;according to the cleanness of my hands, he has rewarded me.21 For I have kept the ways of the Lord;I have not done evil by turning from my God.22 All his laws are before me;I have not turned away from his decrees.23 I have been blameless before him and have kept myself from sin.24 The Lord has rewarded me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands in his sight." God reliably produced man for His glory. For God to receive glory, we must glorify Him.The sacred circle of extraordinary success must be completely connected. There must not be any visible seams. We cannot tolerate any corruption. This is why we speak the authoritative pronouncements. We boast in Gods moral integrity when we quell all organized opposition. For God to be glorified, He must unify the divine creation. For us to glorify God, we must vicariously experience divine unity. "Who is God beside the Lord and who is the rock except our God?"
18 25 To the faithful you show yourself faithful,to the blameless you show yourself blameless,26 to the pure you show yourself pure, but to the crooked you show yourself shrewd.27 You save the humble
but bring low those whose eyes are haughty." God speaks our vindication because we accurately represent His sacred name. We cannot be plagued. We have the eternal life and death pronouncements.Self-righteousness is trusting in our own pronouncements. God has sufficiently established the divine unity of creation in divine pronouncements. The authoritative pronouncements intentionally create our moral integrity. The Psalmist is articulating the moral argument for the legitimate description of advancing against his opposition.
18 28 You, O Lord, keep my lamp burning;my God turns my darkness into light.29 With your help I can advance against a troop;with my God I can scale a wall.30 As for God, his way is perfect;the word of the Lord is flawless." The Psalmist is typically contrasting the empirical evidence of impeccable integrity with moralism. Gods morals properly attend the supernatural work faithfully performed through us. We are supernatural to core. We pronounce an eternal kingdom in a heathen world. We sincerely trust in supernatural prophecy. We are qualified experts in pronouncing supernatural defense, active recreation and brilliant victory. The authoritative pronouncements undoubtedly remain our supernatural power.
18 31 For who is God besides the Lord? And who is the Rock except our God?32 It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect.33 He makes my feet like the feet of a deer;he enables me to stand on the heights.34 He trains my hands for battle;my arms can bend a bow of bronze35 You give me your shield of victory, and your right hand sustains me;you stoop down to make me great.36 You broaden the path beneath me,so that my ankles do not turn." Moralist who merely borrow Gods Law, are in cruel bondage. But God cannot willingly endure a notorious traitor. God will not be put in our moral box! God curses the self-righteous who merely make up their own rules. We gainfully employ eternal law, curses, decrees, statutes, promises and covenants far beyond our rudimentary ability. We depend on supernatural power. Being good does not cut it. We must pronounce the eternal kingdom in fierce opposition to Satanic deception.
