We often vastly underestimate our true state of being; we are far more fallen and broken than we are willing to admit. Similarly, our judgments about ourselves are incomplete and limited, especially when compared to the divine work of God—His mighty power to will within us and to shape and transform our very nature. Our understanding of these profound spiritual realities is mainly filtered through our finite human senses—what we see with our eyes, hear with our ears, and touch with our hands. But beyond this physical realm lie unseen realities—vast, infinite, and far beyond what our limited minds can comprehend. These invisible forces influence us in mysterious and often hidden ways; if only our eyes were opened to see the true brightness, the vibrant colors, and the crystal clarity of that other realm, we would realize that the power at work there exceeds anything we can imagine. This is the true nature of the spiritual universe: when we fellowship with the Father, we are subtly but surely affected by the luminous reality of His divine presence. The Holy Spirit, like a divine stream flowing from the throne of God, is an ever-renewing spring of glory that wells up within us as a living fountain. All of this depends on the illumination of our spiritual eyes—on the divine light being turned on within us—so that we can truly perceive His nearness and presence. Yet, strangely, in experiencing this intimacy, we also become acutely aware of how much we still lack—how much we fall short of His holiness—being continually overwhelmed by His divine glow, overwhelmed by the brightness of His eternal glory. Even now, in our limited understanding, there remains a faint echo of this glory—a divine image within us that calls us to grow deeper in faith and to expand our spiritual senses. Through divine revelation, we catch glimpses of the splendor that surrounds us, fueling our desire to see more clearly and to perceive more fully. If we truly seek the living God, then inevitably we will be overwhelmed by the radiance of His presence—swallowed up in His brilliant light. This vivid imagery of God's greatness is not merely poetic language; it is an actual experience, a reality that stirs our senses and awakens within us a longing to behold His glory. When we draw near to Him, He responds—His Spirit descends upon us, illuminating our hearts, filling us with a divine brightness that awakens an awe-inspiring awareness of the unseen movements and divine workings within our souls.
