Any individual or object that is lifted up in place of Christ becomes an idol. This kind of idolatry is often hidden from the world’s view; it begins deep within the human soul, rooted in the very core of our being. At its heart, it involves the life of God taking root in the human heart—a divine transformation that can be misused when we elevate anything else to God’s throne. When we accept Christ, we enter into a sacred agreement—a covenant—where Christ becomes our ultimate representative and mediator. He is our substitute for sin, bearing our guilt and shame. Through Him, we no longer live by our own strength or efforts; instead, Christ lives within us, guiding and empowering us from the inside out. With this new life, we gain confidence, knowing that we belong to God's family, for Christ has adopted us as His children through His grace. As a result, we carry a new name—a mark of our new identity in Him. We also possess a new authority—an authority rooted in the very glory of God, who has entered our hearts and claims us as His own. This is the reign of the King of glory, who rules through us and by His power. Our allegiance is to Him alone because there is no other place for our devotion; our hearts are fully surrendered. The kingdom of God now dwells within us, illuminating our lives with the radiant light of Christ’s glory. Instead of lifting up idols, our hearts are drawn to Christ, lifting our souls toward the One enthroned in heaven—an awe-inspiring King so mighty that no human can gaze upon Him and survive. This King of glory rules through us, empowering us with the same power that raised Him from the dead. This divine power is also His righteous vengeance against all opposition to His authority. We are given divine authority—through His power—to demolish strongholds and every obstacle that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. The name we invoke—the name of Jesus—is not only a reminder of our past salvation but also the foundation of our ongoing salvation. I do not claim to be a charismatic or to rely solely on speaking words of salvation; instead, our continual salvation depends on knowing God's will and trusting Him to give us what we ask for. It involves fixing our gaze on Jesus—our only true hope for salvation—and believing that, because Christ is the King of glory, all things are under His feet, working together for our good, whether in current circumstances or in the ongoing process of salvation. Whatever vows we make or declarations we speak are rooted in God's promises; through these promises, we gain victory. We come to know our King through His revelation—that salvation is found solely in Him. His decree establishes not only our calling but affirms that salvation is only possible through Him. When we lift up Christ, we approach our Father, illuminated by our experience of His kingdom, overwhelmed by His eternal love and faithfulness to His covenant. We march forward in victory—as if we have already toppled a city—yet we do not take credit for what God works in us. Instead, we are called to lift our souls solely to our Heavenly Father—free to enter His presence with honesty and trust, knowing that His love and power sustain us in every step.
