We need to challenge the false idea that God's way of responding to evil is simply a method of controlling or suppressing it. From the very beginning of eternity, God has known everything about evil—He sees every act of wrongdoing before it even happens, knows who will commit it, and understands the circumstances surrounding it—all this long before the world was created. When we realize that all evil is ultimately within God's sovereign authority and power, we are freed from the heavy burden of doubt and inner conflict. But how does God truly see evil? He considers it with perfect justice—He doesn't view it as a struggle of equals, nor as a challenge to His authority. Even before any evil act is carried out, God has already addressed it—His plan has already determined its course and its ultimate outcome. Though we live in the flow of time, God's perception encompasses all of reality as if we are standing before Him at the final judgment—nothing about evil or opposition escapes His all-encompassing gaze. Nothing—no rebellion, no act of defiance—can escape His power or His curse. Throughout history, God's strength, His sovereignty, and His dignity remain unshaken and unthreatened. So why do we often live as if some rival force or opposition still persists against Him? Why does tension and conflict still linger within our hearts between good and evil? The answer is grace—God's unearned gift to us that has already dealt decisively with evil. Wherever grace is present, evil has been rendered powerless—its influence is merely a flicker, a tiny spark that is instantly consumed by God's overwhelming power. Grace signifies that God's reign is already established as if we are living in the eternal kingdom—completely free from opposition and rebellion. It destroys any challenge to His authority and will. The reason we experience inner struggle is because we are corrupted in every part of our being, influenced by the curse of pragmatism—the tendency to rely on what seems effective or practical rather than what is true and right.
