The Book of Revelation presents a powerful image: the Lamb of God seated on His throne—an emblem that connects the transient world with the eternal realm. This title, “Lamb of God,” is more than just a metaphor; it serves as a bridge, linking the temporal to the everlasting, for the Lamb embodies the Lord of Redemption. We see Christ—who was slain before the foundation of the world—standing victorious in heaven, bearing the scars of His sacrifice, a testament to the price He paid to redeem a people for Himself. In fact, Christ Himself exemplified perfect freedom—He chose rightly in every moment, fully exercising His will in accordance with divine purpose, completing the work of redemption with unwavering resolve. His example shows us that true freedom is found in aligning our choices with God's truth and love, enabling us to participate in His divine plan. In Revelation, the Lamb also takes on the role of the ultimate judge of the earth, responding to the pleas of saints who suffer injustice and persecution. Their heartfelt prayers—such as “How long until you avenge the blood of your servants?”—resonate through eternity, demonstrating that the suffering of the saints is recorded in God's divine ledger of justice. The suffering endured for redemption points to the greater suffering of Christ, which serves as the measure of God's righteous judgments throughout history. Every act of divine justice, every curse pronounced, elevates human history into the realm of divine righteousness, revealing the divine purpose behind every event. This divine gift of freedom, given by God, elevates human existence to a higher level—a space where our true spiritual powers can flourish. When we face wrongs or obstacles preventing us from doing good, feelings of anger often rise within us. If that anger is unrighteous or left unchecked, it can threaten to turn into violence or hatred. However, God, in His mercy, has woven into the fabric of history the principles of righteous indignation. He has declared eternal curses upon all forms of destruction and wickedness, transforming our reactions to injustice into expressions of divine justice. His pronouncements—His curses—are not just words but eternal judgments that extend into our present and future, offering us hope and reassurance that justice will ultimately be achieved.
