There exists both a growth in our understanding and a profound, personal experience of walking in salvation—much like a traveler journeying along an unfolding path. Our spiritual progress hinges on how steadfastly we keep our eyes fixed on the ultimate goal. Our victory depends on how deeply we yearn for what God has declared—how closely our desires align with His divine will. The more fervently we long for the gifts and promises God wishes to bestow, the more we participate in a kind of joyful communion with Him. This process resembles the travail of childbirth: there is a struggle, a groaning, a period of intense effort—yet through that struggle, new life is brought forth. That new birth signifies victory—a fresh awakening of faith, a renewed conversion of the heart. We find ourselves longing, struggling, and ultimately succeeding; but each victory often brings new challenges—greater resistance, a deeper longing, and an even stronger desire for what is still to come. Our yearning is reignited when we encounter God anew, for then everything feels aligned and right once again. In these moments, we undergo a spiritual childbirth—contractions of desire, a desperate craving to be delivered, to be born again into new life. It’s akin to searching for the dawn—the morning that heralds a new day, a fresh beginning. That new morning embodies our desire to hear God's voice of love—each day starting with this longing for something beyond ourselves, for something new and transformative. Sometimes, this longing isn’t immediately fulfilled with the dawn; instead, it remains an enduring hope for future mornings—moments when God’s word of peace and salvation will be spoken once more. Despite our assurance that we have been fully delivered from the grip of this world, we often sense a distance—a feeling that we have not yet fully rested in that deliverance. It’s as if resistance still lingers—fear, anxiety, sorrow—that pull us away from the moment of our last encounter with God. We remember hearing that word we longed for, and in it, finding peace; yet that peace has not become our constant state. This persistent longing—the ache for fulfillment here on earth—serves as a sign that our deepest desires remain unfulfilled. And so, we find ourselves longing to long once again. Let us reflect anew on the nature of our deepest desires. After all, desire is but a gentle whisper of a wish—similar to a blessing in its essence. From God's perspective, a blessing is a declaration of deliverance; it is a divine spoken word over the righteous—a divine affirmation of liberation. Our lives are blessed because we continually await God's fresh word of salvation—an ongoing promise that calls us onward, encouraging us to move forward in faith.
