And I deliberately mention the Holy Spirit—yes, I intentionally name Him—because He comes with mighty and undeniable power. His arrival brings each person to the very edge of their own strength, breaking down self-reliance and pride. The presence of the Spirit is woven deeply into the fabric of the spoken Word, filling hearts with a profound sense of awe and joy. This divine presence stirs within believers a reverence that simultaneously humbles them and lifts their spirits, creating a sacred humility that exalts God's greatness. During revival, there is an unmistakable and tangible sense that Christ is ever near; His presence becomes a sweet and comforting fragrance that permeates the community. People gather more frequently, drawn together by this divine aroma that draws them into closer fellowship with God and one another. As they open the Scriptures, they encounter its eternal power anew—experiencing firsthand its life-giving, transformative force that awakens the soul. A deep love for God's sovereignty—a recognition of His absolute rule over all creation—grows within them, fueling their worship and obedience. An abundance of grace is poured out upon them, beyond what they can measure or contain, prompting a universal rejoicing that exalts Christ as Lord and Savior. Oh, how vast and unfathomable is the love of God—an incomprehensible, boundless love—and through the baptism of His Spirit, even the heaviest burdens, such as despair and hopelessness, are lifted. All believers are united in a harmony of soul, love flowing beyond human understanding, as revival breathes new life into hearts and transforms darkness into light, despair into hope. My dear brother, you may attempt to define or limit what revival truly is, to wrap it in words that diminish its divine reality. You might even mock or dismiss the very core of revival, trying to portray the Holy Spirit as nothing more than a conjurer or a magician, a disguised witch doctor. But when the Holy Spirit moves with genuine power, there is a deep, undeniable sweetness that floods the soul—an awareness of His presence that reveals Christ in all His radiant glory and divine attributes. In these moments of revival, Christ ceases to be a distant idea; He becomes palpably present through His atoning sacrifice on the cross and His victorious power over every opposition within the human heart. His presence is profoundly felt, stirring every soul to recognize that He, who existed eternally within the divine council, humbled Himself by taking on flesh, endured the Father’s will, fulfilled all righteousness, and died in our place. Now, He reigns over His church as our sole High Priest and our Advocate before the throne of grace. This glorious truth reverberates throughout the atmosphere of revival, filling it with divine power and assurance.
