I hold the belief that our capacity to feel and experience any emotion is ultimately limited by what God has allowed and permitted. He provides us with an eternal mirror—a divine reflection—that amplifies and magnifies our reactions to the events that unfold across eternity. When we take the time to contemplate and reflect upon our emotional experiences, we find that the divine judgment of time and eternity come together, converging in perfect harmony. The profound and wondrous truth is that God offers us prayer as a sacred means to express our emotions in a way that aligns with His righteousness. Through prayer, we are able to mirror the emotional reactions of Christ Himself, reflecting His perfect love, compassion, and righteousness. Up to this point, our communication of God's judgment has primarily been through the proclamation of His Word—Scripture—which serves as the divine standard and authority. Yet, the ultimate measure of truth and righteousness resides within God's indwelling presence within us. The deep sweetness of the cross symbolizes the righteous moral judgment that confirms our standing as justified before God. This justification is so complete and thorough that God no longer demands or exacts the punishment our sins rightly deserve.
