God created humans in His likeness. We are built to be successful by behaving consistently with our words. When we do not act consistently, God punishes the individual breach. Why is God so harsh? Because God is remarkably simple. God is the only one who has the authority to sentence sinners to death for breaking their promises. If Father did not condemn the unfaithful man to death, he would be making a mockery of His Son's faithfulness. This explains why we experience envy. Because we are conditioned to trust other people to act consistently with their statements. But how could we be consistent with God's jealousy? How can we be righteously jealous? God wants us to approach and express our experiences. The fact is that we were designed to be successful in administering the law in optimal unity of creation. We were never intended to withstand resistance. We become angry when we observe sinners violating others. We felt violated on purpose. The truth is that we cannot trust man entirely. Can suspicious sinners avoid developing a terrible attitude of envy by comparing themselves to one another? We must carefully follow authoritative pronouncements to become comfortable with heavenly unity rather than disunity. We must flee the evil traitors. The Psalmist escapes the widespread abuse of covenant breakers by reciting the law, covenants, curses, decrees, and promises. We must recognize that there are many dangerous individuals in this world who may purposefully harm us for the rest of our lives. We must faithfully follow the instructions to avoid being trapped by traitors.
