Given this backdrop, it raises a compelling question: why would God allocate financial resources to large megachurches when so many pressing social issues persist, including rampant homelessness? Furthermore, why should heavenly provisions be diverted toward financing extravagant expenditures for recreational events such as Saturday play dates and pizza nights, especially when the well-being of vulnerable children hangs in the balance? The urgency of addressing these critical issues cannot be overstated. We are called to embody kindness and generosity, extending our compassion even to those we might consider our adversaries, as well as to the poor and marginalized. The traditional notion of self-denial needs to be re-evaluated. We must remember that Jesus exemplified true responsibility toward the welfare of society. He established a legacy in which religious leaders were often criticized while ensuring that the needy, the blind, and the homeless were provided with nourishment, shelter, and healing. Jesus’ life serves as a brilliant example for us to emulate.
