When they are eventually faced with the heavy burden of their own moral apathy, they may grapple with their conscience, often choosing to lash out in frustration by cursing God instead of seeking the path to redemption. This reaction illustrates a profound inner conflict, as they wrestle with the realization of their own shortcomings. In a strange twist of irony, even within this self-constructed and distorted reality, they manage to convince themselves that they are somehow at peace with God, believing that they are reconciled despite their actions and attitudes.
