Our existence is riddled with curses and devastation, so how can anyone aspire to reside in the land of the living, which is tarnished by such suffering and hardship? Yet the land of the living persists as a steadfast and irrefutable reality. We hold dominion over this world, which is a historical reality set against the broader context of a cursed existence. While it is true that the laws of nature remain constant and unchanging, we possess the power to influence history in ways that bring these laws into subservience to our actions. For the people of God, misfortune and despair cannot ultimately prevail, for we are anchored in the promise of the land of the living, where hope and purpose abound amid the trials of life. The psalmist recognizes a duality in our present world, characterized by an unbreakable connection to the divine even amidst chaos. In a realm marked by decay and suffering, how can one truly access the land of the living? The answer lies in the affirmation that the land of the living is indeed a tangible and accessible reality. The objective truth is that we strive to create a semblance of historical peace, for the laws of nature remain unyielding and cannot be violated. The people of God are blessed and resilient. In an ideal scenario, we would formulate guidelines that align with the teachings found in Scripture and the guidance of the Holy Spirit. We can coexist harmoniously with others who also seek peace and unity. Some saints work towards fostering a spiritual oneness that resonates within the fabric of the local culture. We articulate principles and nurture a culture that is shaped by our spoken words, actively participating in the creation of a better world. Philosophical perspectives such as determinism and humanism suggest that this life is the ultimate destination, promoting a nihilistic understanding where everything culminates in death and nothingness. In stark contrast, the Bible reveals that the Creator has infused existence with profound purpose and meaning. The people of Israel were promised the inheritance of the Promised Land, a central theme of the blessings articulated in the Old Testament. However, through the incarnation of Christ, the claim to the entirety of the Earth was established. In Christ, all things belong to us; the New Testament expands this promise to encompass the entire globe, where both curses and blessings reach their fullest expression.
