We adhere to Christ's teachings by earnestly asking Him to fulfill the promises He has made within those teachings. On one side, He graciously meets our daily needs, shields us from temptation, protects us from the cunning strategies of the Devil, and showers us with blessings despite our shortcomings and sins. He assures us that He will no longer remember our transgressions, that He will distance our sins from us as far as the east is from the west, and that He will not treat us based on our failings. Instead, He encourages us to embrace His grace, especially in our times of need, and offers us protection from the schemes of others, all wrapped in that same grace. Christ invites us to find rest from our labors by praying in alignment with His will. He encourages us to seek this rest through His promise to guide us into a life that reflects His own. In essence, the Holy Spirit cultivates within us a focused mindset as we surrender to Christ our insecurities, anxieties, shame, sins, and our profound sense of helplessness in the face of our adversaries and the malicious designs of the Devil aimed at our destruction. The Spirit instills in us new desires, drawing us back to the peace and rest we once experienced, but now enriched with a fresh word of hope for the present day. Thus, the Spirit guides us into a state of rest in Christ, allowing us to transition from one day to the next, fulfilling our deepest longings in increasingly meaningful ways as we pursue that rest daily. In this ongoing journey, we find ourselves entering into God's eternal rest even before we step into the fullness of eternity itself.
