However, these actions do not happen automatically. Satan devises schemes to manipulate the direction of a church's worldview in order to disrupt the peace of the saints. If a church prioritizes evangelism over prayer, focuses on programs rather than providing proper oversight during gatherings, emphasizes activity over the message of the cross and life in Christ, places faith in human goodness instead of emphasizing reliance on God, and prioritizes obedience over dedicated prayer for the protection of the congregation, then the church's spiritual warfare will be compromised by secular influences.
