When we speak of our actions and efforts in securing our salvation, we are honoring the One who has granted us this precious gift. We understand that God generously bestows His love upon us, and we are embraced by His steadfast affection. The true essence of repentance lies in recognizing and embracing this abundant love. Christian repentance is not focused on ourselves or our circumstances, but rather on acknowledging the goodness of God. Our salvation is dependent on our trust in the triumph of Christ, and all that we receive is a gracious gift from Him. Repentance serves as our way of safeguarding and treasuring this gift, as the most valuable aspect of our salvation is being fully justified in the eyes of God. Our lives are devoted to repentance, as sinners who acknowledge and proclaim the immense goodness of God by acknowledging His perfect justice. In doing so, we take joy in the knowledge that He does not hold our sins against us. Because of His love, we cannot diminish or lose the gift He has bestowed upon us. We become bearers of His redemption, standing in awe alongside Christ, confident that His righteous declarations will only bring us blessings because we possess such an incredible gift. All honor and praise belong to God.
