There is nothing in chapter 5 that suggests that saving oneself is within the capability of men, as historically they have proven unable to do so. Our only recourse is to approach God and seek salvation, which is not a one-time event but an ongoing process. Every future occurrence in our lives is predetermined by God, highlighting the importance of relying on Him for deliverance from challenges, temptations, and enemies. God saves His followers by overcoming their adversaries, underscoring the significance of consulting His word for guidance and protection.
In the heavenly realm, a similar pattern emerges. The divine message of salvation remains concealed until the designated time for its revelation, determined by God. The entire universe is in a state of longing and anticipation, akin to the pains experienced during childbirth, as it eagerly awaits the ultimate restoration of all things. In this future state, we, as rulers and priests, will assume authority over the Earth. However, we implore, how much longer must we wait, O Lord? Yet, there is only one word on which we can truly rely. It was through this word that the act of creation took place, for it was by God's will alone that everything came into existence. Additionally, in verse 5, there is another decree concerning the future destruction of humanity and the subsequent renewal of heaven and earth. The celestial beings discuss the reasons behind this decree. It is because God desires to bring people to Himself, having chosen individuals from all corners of the world. We offer our praise to God for He alone has willed salvation and possesses the power to bring it to fruition. As the culmination of this salvation draws near, all of creation resounds with loud groans.
This is a form of denouncing the Satanic opposition that existed in the ancient world. These creatures seek divine retribution for the shedding of Christ's blood, which was sacrificed for the chosen ones from various nations and languages. They carry prayers that hold great significance, akin to an evening sacrifice of an animal, specifically requesting personal protection against temptation, a lack of encouragement through fellowship, and the hands of the wicked. This context revolves around cursing the wicked for the sake of safeguarding oneself. These prayers resemble the fragrant incense of the saints, a decree from God that serves as one of the final steps towards ultimate rejuvenation. If Christ's blood was shed for the chosen ones, then let their blood be poured out in destruction! They worship a God who will judge the earth, as He has ordained.
