In the ancient times, the form of leadership known as rulership involved a king who acknowledged their subservience to God through their prophetic relationship with the priest. The king's authority was upheld by a system of checks and balances, which included adherence to ceremonial laws, the ten commandments, divine decrees, and wisdom literature. Additionally, the king served as the supreme commander of the army. It is my belief that King David, in line with the prevailing beliefs of the time, emphasized the subjugation of foreign nations to showcase God's rule over the earth from his own throne. This is why David referred to God as his king. The people were warned of the possibility of exile as a form of punishment, but the primary target of the ruling authority's destructive force was aimed at the foreign nations.

Consequently, the notion of ultimate justice lies in the secret counsel of God, transcending earthly leaders who are inherently influenced by corrupt ideas of governance. It is from these flawed systems of human rulership that all the evils of this world arise. Therefore, earthly kingdoms cannot persist throughout generations, as they are plagued by the curse of God's destructive spirit. The idea of destruction is not limited to physical termination but also encompasses a spiritual condition in which a future ruler is dominated by selfish desires from birth, leading them to turn against their neighbors. This destructive behavior ultimately leads to the downfall of earthly kingdoms since no man is capable of ruling with justice, fairness, and consistency. Therefore, it is essential to recognize that David, as a leader, governed in accordance with God's divine vision of his rightful rule over the earth. In this context, the concept of justice was not within the scope of an earthly king's vision, as God had bestowed the law upon Israel. However, it was through God's authority that decrees were enforced, reinforcing Israel's unique status and protection under the ruler of the earth. David's authority was contingent upon God's punishment of nations and safeguarding of Israel from apostasy. God ensured Israel's secure existence through punishment, which extended beyond physical destruction to encompass spiritual values and the eternal nature of justice. In essence, David's earthly rule was supernaturally enforced, as God decreed it for an eternal kingdom. Thus, the notion of destruction in the mind of a king signifies the reception of just consequences within the kingdom of God. These consequences extend not only to rebels against the earthly king but also to every rebellious thought within the secret providence of God. Humans are inherently inclined to avoid God and harm their neighbors, but only God perceives this behavior. Despite the decline in earthly kingdoms' power, God repays individuals for every wrongful thought. This is why there is limited wisdom available in the world, as it lies on the path between destruction and eternal reward. Within the kingdom of eternal consequences, a person can attain a state of sound judgment.
