The Holy Spirit operates in our lives as a result of Christ's work on our behalf, and we are guided by this work as our proper way of living. This process of sanctification is ongoing, with the Holy Spirit applying Christ's obedience in revealing His image to us. By focusing on Christ through His teachings, we undergo transformation from one state of glory to another. When we live according to the Spirit, we are not driven by worldly desires. The Spirit controls us, bringing grace to bear on our sins and revealing God's unwavering love as He molds us with redemptive qualities. This divine love allows us to no longer see ourselves as enslaved to sin, but instead, we live in grace and gain an understanding of God's will. In knowing His will, we recognize that He is everything we need, and we find rest in Him alone. The reception of this rest is a passive act on our part, yet it empowers us to do good. We acknowledge that if God did not create life, He would not have established the intricate mechanisms that sustain it. Therefore, the various aspects of life serve a purpose, as God works them out for the greater good. This concept extends to our willingness to act, as God influences our actions and directs us through the circumstances He brings into our lives. He works within our strengths and weaknesses, just as He intends for creation to function. This divine will encompasses both the original act of creation and the ongoing process of renewal.
