The essence of the gospel can be distilled into a fundamental act of placing complete faith and reliance in Christ. Its inherent simplicity, however, can often be overlooked or underestimated. Remarkably, an individual's salvation can be attained through the mere utterance of a single word: Jesus. Yet, it is crucial to acknowledge that this transformative word is bestowed upon the individual by the Holy Spirit. Consequently, the entirety of scriptural truth, encapsulated within the spirit of the law, is embodied within that individual. On the contrary, it is entirely plausible for another individual to possess an extensive wealth of knowledge concerning the truth, yet remain devoid of a personal relationship with Christ.

But at the same time, our experience of perfection lies in our understanding of truth. So we can be like a child who is born into poverty and suffers from hunger due to lack of food. Not only do we need to be saved, we need to develop from a child into an adult. The Bible compares the necessity of eating for our physical bodies with our spiritual growth. We need a daily intake of the Bread of Life.

We can observe and appreciate the accomplishments of evangelical missions, both abroad and in our own lives, as we engage in discussions about doctrinal differences on equal footing. Our individual experiences with Christian growth are universal, transcending geographical boundaries.
