It will provide a clearer explanation of who Christ is, enabling us to better understand our own identity. I firmly believe that our understanding of Christ is inseparable from our sense of self. He bestows upon us gifts that allow us to recognize our true selves. Self-denial, in my view, is not about forgetting oneself or obsessively examining our sins, but rather about trusting that Christ fulfills our desires because He instilled those desires within us from the beginning. This understanding is crucial in recognizing our true identity. Additionally, our focus on desires can lead to a fragmentation of our experiences, such as guilt, anger, shame, and fear. However, I am not suggesting that we detach our spirit from our body, but rather that we consider our true self-image. We should not divide ourselves in our teachings, but rather release ourselves to Him. By doing so, we undergo a process of sifting, where we discern what we truly trust based on our experiences and others' perceptions of us. Christ is always available to us, offering us complete freedom to share our profound distress during this process of fragmentation. By responding to the deeper message within this process, we create something meaningful and real.
