In this manner, we can perceive a sort of detachment, where our spirits ascend within our corporeal forms. Possessing passion involves the dynamic interplay of action and object, with each exerting a distinct influence that can coexist within an act of volition. The will, however, lacks the ability to act upon itself. Just as our creation necessitates an external force sustaining our existence, we are subject to external forces that shape our being. Yet, we also exist as autonomous entities through the actions occurring within the physical aspects of our bodies. Consequently, we can assert that the existence of an action is contingent upon an external force acting upon us through desire or passion. As sinners, our corruption pervades every facet of our being, encompassing both our physical and spiritual selves. We bear this burden of moral decay as if it were a distinct entity operating within us. Thus, we are inherently toxic even before consciously choosing to engage in sinful acts. Sin exerts its influence upon us when we make the conscious decision to indulge in it. If this passion for sin is present from our very birth, we endure this toxic reality until our eventual demise. This reality shapes our interactions with others and their choices, fostering a sense of separation between our spirits and our physical bodies.
