In this life, we inevitably face trials, but rest assured, there are provisions in place to support us during these challenging times. The apostle's message goes beyond the idea of taking things one step at a time or making the correct decisions. Rather, these trials are specifically orchestrated by God for a purpose. Their primary objective is not merely to instill moral values, but rather to test and strengthen our faith. Through these trials, we are meant to develop a deep trust in God's word and His unwavering love. The ultimate goal is for us to become more Christ-like. If we were to sail through life without facing any difficulties, we would likely become overly self-assured. We would resemble the wicked who arrogantly believe that they can oppress others without consequence. Therefore, God allows His children to experience trials so that we are compelled to call upon Him for deliverance. He intervenes precisely at the moment of greatest trouble, when the wicked are most relentless in their malicious plans. God deliberately waits until the eleventh hour because He desires for us to transition from merely trusting in His word to witnessing His direct involvement in our deliverance. He does not want us to rely on human assistance or our own devised plans. Instead, He wants us to have unwavering faith that His authority and power are actively at work in our lives, as Christ rightfully holds authority over everything.

We prepare ourselves for the day of adversity, or the test that God has ordained to evaluate our faith. It is when God seems distant that we know our trial will ultimately benefit us, as it will teach us to live righteously by placing our trust in the righteousness of Christ. We will come to understand that grace is truly bestowed without cost. Throughout the trial, we will realize that our only course of action is to rely on Him. We will realize that our perceived strength is actually the source of our greatest anguish, as God addresses our self-assurance during the trial. If we desire to comprehend His power, we must relinquish our own power. By incessantly seeking His guidance, we learn to rely on His power, as our focus becomes singular in requesting His guidance along the correct path. In a trial, we may be less aware of a smooth journey on this path due to heightened anxiety, which exposes some of the obstacles we encounter. In our quest to follow His path, we must place our trust solely in His word. His word serves as the manifestation of our trust in Him to guide us along the right path. When we rely on our own understanding, we hinder our ability to follow His ways. Therefore, we must turn away from our own comprehension and place our trust solely in His word.
