Although he possessed human desires and needs, every aspect of his being was a result of God's work within him, even in the training of his physical functions. He refrained from pursuing legal actions against his brothers, choosing to engage in extensive periods of prayer instead. He approached all of his battles by first seeking guidance from the Spirit before obediently acting them out in reality. David aligned his thoughts with those of God.

Even amidst the wrongdoing he committed, he was aware that there was only one place where he could find solace. Even when his family suffered the consequences of his actions, he remained confident that his prayers would be answered, despite God's decree. This is because God does not always carry out punishment, but always fulfills his promises. David, therefore, sought God with great devotion, and even his wife found comfort in the discipline ordained by God. David understood that he could approach God's throne not by his own efforts, but through the Holy Spirit's enlivening of his heart through faith, as he sought refuge in prayer. With this disposition of grace, David empathized deeply with the poor and afflicted, while disdainful of the arrogant and scoffers. The more he sought refuge in God, the more humble he became, even extending kindness to the lowest among society, such as a crippled boy, which brought him not only fulfillment but also joy. Consider the contemptuous attitude of Saul's family towards David's devotion, symbolized by his wholehearted worship of God. God granted David's prayers in order for him to detest his own ways. In this paradigm, David epitomized the ideal man who found ultimate solace in God. He was truly a man after God's own heart.
