Jesus is the ultimate purpose behind our existence. Any task He assigns us is not a reckless leap, but rather a means to bring glory to Him. Our hesitations and reservations may stem from our limited understanding, which is why we may hesitate to carry out His desires. He instructed Hosea to marry a prostitute, allowed Paul to be imprisoned for the sake of revealing His truth, and informed Peter that his desired outcome would not come to fruition. Our inability to plan for the future stems from our tendency to fret over matters beyond our control. This is why He provides us with daily sustenance, knowing that excessive accumulation would only lead to decay. He possesses comprehensive knowledge of every aspect of the intricate puzzle of existence, hence, every historical event serves a purpose. Without His intimate understanding of these events, their ultimate outcomes would lack significance. Our predicament lies in our lack of trust in Him as an eternal Father who generously provides for every creature under heaven. He affirms that He does not require our offerings, as He possesses abundant resources. Rather, He seeks our heartfelt praise and a life guided by His perspective. Our purpose here is to bring glory to Him. Though we may have desires for various good things, there exist even greater desires with loftier aims. Thus, we are constantly surrounded by eternal principles and goals that surpass these lesser pleasures. We have access to a wellspring of spiritual nourishment, yet it remains inexhaustible. Consequently, we should forsake our personal cravings to partake in communion with Him. Our yearning for Him should surpass any earthly desire, as nothing else can truly fulfill our deepest longings. In His presence, we find contentment and need nothing else.
