The concept being discussed here is that our actions are uncertain, representing our own choices, while God's plan is certain and sovereign. However, if our actions do not align with God's will, He may intervene to ensure our obedience. This raises a contradiction, as if God is truly sovereign, then nothing can hinder His will. On the other hand, we are taught that God provides for us through grace and has already accomplished the work that leads to our success. The teachings of scripture even suggest that our sin cannot impede God's will. These two teachings present a stark difference. If God always achieves success, then we can find assurance in the fact that He is renewing us, even as we struggle with recurring sin. This allows us to find security in our brokenness, as we recognize that our dependence should be placed on the work of Christ. Our confidence stems from trusting in God's covenant promises, relinquishing our own power to overcome sin and acknowledging that it is only through His work that we grow. By doing so, we find rest and experience true deliverance, ultimately ceasing our struggle.
