Is it possible that God uses the fear of hell as a means of control? Absolutely not. There is only one entity that accuses and condemns us, and it is not God. If God is on our side, then no one can stand against us. We have the assurance that nothing can ever separate us from God's love, which is found in Christ Jesus. It is through His undeserved favor that we find security within His family. Even before the world was created, He had chosen and called us to be His own. Our eternal life is a result of His grace, as we have not earned it through our own efforts. Ultimately, it is His salvation that we rely upon, not our own abilities.
We have been bestowed with everything necessary for a fulfilling and godly existence. In addition, as believers in Christ Jesus, we are transformed into new beings. Despite facing sorrow due to our own sins and the challenges of life, our anguish cannot compare to the torment experienced by the wicked. We do not succumb to fear or despair, but rather, we emerge victorious through our faith in Christ Jesus. Though we may feel helpless in our own abilities, we have been endowed with extraordinary powers to engage in a valiant fight for our beliefs. Our mindset is rooted in the understanding that when we fix our gaze upon Christ, we can courageously combat the influences of the world, our own desires, and the forces of evil. By faith, we are certain that our struggle will ultimately result in triumphant success. Nevertheless, we acknowledge that this battle can be arduous and demanding at times. We are not overcome by sorrow, but we are enticed to retreat, rely on our own efforts, or trust in worldly means. However, this conflict demands our utmost strength as we strive to keep our focus on the ultimate prize, akin to a long-distance runner. The more we perceive Christ as our ultimate destination, the greater our confidence becomes in our ability to overcome.
