The attributes of God are all characterized by holiness. His love, faithfulness, and other qualities are all holy in nature. Christ has successfully fulfilled the requirements needed for us to access all of God's promises. The fear we experience when approaching a holy God is not due to a misunderstanding of His attributes. Instead, it stems from the recognition that we are standing before a supreme judge. Through regeneration, we are welcomed into God's family through faith alone. This adoption is just as significant as our justification, which is when God declares us accepted not because of our own righteousness, but because of Christ's righteousness. As a result, we are declared innocent in the heavenly court. When we are embraced as members of God's family, we assume His name. Our adoption is a result of His divine will that was predetermined even before the world came into existence, making salvation primarily God's doing. Bearing His name signifies that we are represented by Christ, who acts as our advocate. He not only defends us, but also does so on account of His own reputation. The honor we receive as believers in Christ is solely for the glory of God. He not only represents us through our obedience, but also speaks on our behalf in times of failure. He supports us during struggles, brings us joy in His presence, and grants us forgiveness without any conditions.
