An examination of Jesus' stance towards sinners reveals a tendency towards benevolence, while individuals who claimed to possess the power to redeem themselves were met with a more severe response. This can be explained by the principle that those who claim adherence to the law are held to a higher standard. Jesus even desired this to be applicable to the self-righteous, as their mentality is considered more abhorrent than actions such as adultery and homicide. The extent of God's judgment is beyond the comprehension of humans. He does not entrust us with the task of judging others as He is aware of our tendency towards hypocrisy. Even a small violation of His law can render us guilty of breaching the entire law, and the consequence for such an infringement is not limited to regret or confession, but rather death. It is therefore unwise to treat God's law with indifference. Our salvation from this outcome is solely possible through the fulfillment of the law by Christ.
