We are extremely innocent and trusting when we are in communication with the Spirit. We focus on one thing at a time, and we constantly yearn for one thing. All of us are capable of praying with conviction; we simply talk ourselves out of it when we get up off our knees. It would be much more logical to believe as our Lord promised that whatever we ask for in His name, He will grant. In fact, I don't think He ever says that when we pray He will answer us with feelings of sadness. Instead, He always responds to us with love and understanding. When God demonstrates Himself through His actions in a particular situation, it is because He is acting in a way that is consistent with His character. Our hope is shattered by people who lack faith. We are credibly informed that if we test God then we can't justly expect a miracle. That seems to remain our predictable cycle of thinking. First, because we always start to question when we don't have a deep understanding of an experiential sense that God is good, long suffering, and unfailing in His love. It's that simple. So a Calvinist doesn't entertain the compulsory power of human will to merely increase His hope. All of that arduous process is wasted on this hardened earth. The reason that God passes before us as this kind of God is because we do not think that in our troubles, God is faithful as an innate disposition. If we sincerely believed that God was going to satisfactorily determine the outcome, we wouldn't lose hope in His promise, and we wouldn't suspect Him for apparent reasons. This self-reflection process is often unproductive, leading only to personal feelings of regret, guilt, shame, and fear. It is natural for us to be blinded to this problematic area and to genuinely believe that God is absolutely sovereign, even though some of us may not be able to stomach this doctrine, to our own detriment. If we were not vulnerable to overwhelming sinful desire, we could face any circumstance with confidence. We could encounter any non-believer who claims that God is not sovereign and that everyone sins for a reason, without being shaken in our beliefs. This is because they don't believe that God is near. The reason nobody can overcome moral hardship is because they don't believe that God is sovereign. The specific reason people don't get along in marriage is because they don't believe that God is sovereign. That is the fallback position. But why we include the axioms we can progress from questioning and dwelling on our sin to experience His sovereign goodness in being forgiven, We spread those things over to Him. The saints work hard to receive God's gifts in their lives, which are enabled by the ability to forget what is in the past. This is a mystical experience of His sovereignty over all things. Whatever self-determination we entertain, we will always end up frustrated and regretful. In a foolish way, we never give up humanistic determinism.
