The only way to be honest about what we believe is to show that no one can earn grace through their own efforts. If people want to know what we really believe, we need to tell them the truth about grace. The great thing about grace is that it is freely given by God and that, if we tell people the truth about it, they will respond positively because God has given everyone a desire to seek after Him, even though they may be unwilling to admit it. By reminding them of the freedom that grace offers, we can help them see the potential for a better life. While people without God's grace may be foolish and easily led astray by sin, God's grace reminds us of our unworthiness and provides us with relief from the deception and pain of sin. Once we understand grace, it is easy to talk others down in their depths of sin. God is leading every sinner on a leash, and we are able to pull the chains and shorten the leash. Every fool gets caught in his own folly. This is the man who thinks he is heading in a successful way only to find that he has been digging his own grave. However, we cannot fail in this fight. They will fall beneath our feet. It is promised to David and his descendants. We have something very valuable: our faith. We are in a war that has already been won, and we are just cheering on the real participants in this war: the angels and God's army. We are encouraging them to go out before us and be victorious. The greatest understanding we can have is that we are relatively powerless in the victory. We are only powerful when we are weak and unable. To be weak is not to be abused or passive but to come to the point where we experience the power of God and yet see there is so much mystery that we could not accomplish what He will accomplish through us.The importance of our engagement in this battle is crucial. We all have different roles to play, but in order to maintain our progress in our faith, we need to have the conviction that nothing can ultimately impede our progress. We will continue to march towards victory, until we obtain victory in heaven. However, the fight is not ours to win – it belongs to God. Our history is made up of His victories along the way. In this, we cannot fail.
