"The majority of the claims about predestination on this site appear to be accurate. My primary concern with this issue, as well as preordination and sovereignty, is how they relate to God authoring sin. For example, if our days are numbered and written down before the foundation of the world, that would mean that God has also written that one may take another's life. Therefore, God would have preordained that a child will be aborted. What was once a grievous sin is now nothing less than God's will in action. This makes me question whether predestination is something to be celebrated or mourned." Response; Actually the lack of determinism creates the illusion that a person who is under great temptation to a vice so that he gives into the drink is so much under the power of the drink that he cannot refuse it. That's why there's not going to be any alcoholism in the new heaven and new earth. And yet there will be determinism of good in real worth. It was good that God decreed the fall and yet did not tempt man to sin.If God had not allowed humans to fall from grace, then the beauty of the garden would have been blamed for humans succumbing to temptation. However, the cause for sinning lies within humans before they chose to eat the fruit. If not, then humans could not be free to sin. The fruit would have been the cause, but humans are always under some kind of compulsion to do as they do. If they had no prior motive to choose to sin, then there would be no cause of their choosing. If there is no cause of choosing, then there is nothing that exists. If everything that exists is due to God's will, then who or what can we blame when things go wrong? Is it the amount of resistance to sin that determines whether something is good or bad? If an individual demonstrates a significant amount of self-control in one area of their life but succumbs to temptation in another, do they deserve credit for the self-control they exhibited? Is it fair to say that they made a sincere effort? We can see that every decision has a certain amount of inevitability to it. In this way, we can say that there is good determinism.
