The gospel is the means by which God provides salvation to His chosen people. He comes down from heaven and completes the work necessary to procure salvation for those who He has known from all eternity. He did not create the universe in response to pre-existing conditions, but rather created the conditions Himself through the power of His will. He has always existed, and that is why everything else exists. There is no intermediary between God and His creation. The gospel is such an effective teaching tool because it comes from Elohim, Jehovah, and El - beings who know everything in the most personal way possible. Because the gospel is from them, we are able to benefit from that knowledge. There is no other being that is equal to the Three when it comes to understanding people and events, and because they are the source of the gospel, we can trust that it is accurate and helpful. Even if God was mysterious and did not reveal the extent of His sovereign will, we would still be helpless to know our own future, to understand our own invisible parts, to see our own interior world, and to understand our own birth in secret. The gospel is a powerful tool because it comes from beings who know everything - something we could never hope to achieve on our own.The strength of our character is determined by how well we can anticipate and adapt to change. We understand very little of the mysteries of the universe, and this can be frustrating and overwhelming. However, this is actually a good thing, as it humble us and reminds us of our mortality. It is through this humility that we can truly appreciate the greatness of God. He does not try to make Himself more relatable to us by sharing His knowledge, but instead He shows us our own insignificance. This is not done to belittle us, but rather to remind us that we are not all-powerful and that we need to rely on Him.Because we are sinners, we foolishly think that we can be like God by knowing everything. However, God demonstrates His foreknowledge of us by saying that all human thoughts are futile. Not only do we lack the ability to think like God, but we are also blind to our own ability to create future events through our thoughts. The point of God being the one who creates reality from forethought is to demonstrate that man could not even exist without God's prior creation into existence of reality of man's thoughts. This shows man as futile without God's saving and creating word. Man must be reduced to complete powerlessness in order to possess saving faith. "I believed therefore I said I am greatly afflicted and in my distress I said all men are liars."
