Saints are not tainted by the sinful behavior of others, but they can be saddened by it. The main objective of a saint is not to affiliate with a certain group of people, but to extend compassion to others and guide them closer to God. In order to do this efficiently, we must be able to comprehend why people do the things they do. As we develop our understanding of our identity in Christ, we also grow in our examination of the ungodly. We live in the awareness that we are already sanctified wholly, but we still have the process of decomposition that makes us endure the world as it is deteriorating into wickedness. In order to reach out to those who are trapped in sinful behavior, we must be able to understand why they do what they do, so that we can accurately direct them to Christ.Because all men have a desire to know God, they are powerless to experience the effects of that desire. This is due to the fact that every man, saved or unsaved, has the same rational process with different causes. This is why man experiences depravity and religious desires at the same time. Because all men have been created to have an image of something they seek after and become like. The natural state of man is to set up idols as the ultimate image. However, all other gods are dead things as well- they are simply figments of man's imagination. Whether a man worships a physical object or he worships his own goodness, these desires are the natural idols that arise within the human condition. The truth is that men often live with a false sense of trust in corruptible things, which leads to sudden anxiety. Because men live according to their own senses, these idols are limited to a dimensional view in which a man makes his own idol as he is comfortable with his own experience. The only salvation in this life is to be freed from oneself and to be in union with Christ. In other words, men need to rely on Christ instead of their own understanding in order to have a fulfilling life.Christ's salvation is about more than just experiencing the positive effects of His word being implanted within us; it is also about understanding what He went through in order to identify with the worst sinners. Christ, who was the most perfect man and never lusted or coveted, spent His time in the presence of the most depraved people. He sought them out with a passion and cursed the self-righteous. Why did Christ live in the company of people who walked the streets and lived in caves? Because He wanted to identify with them and offer them salvation.Because these are the people Christ came to rescue. They are the people who lived in a reality of powerlessness and were unable to present themselves as healthy to others. Christ teaches us that all men imagine there is a society where nothing can harm them, but this is an imaginary society. All men live with the struggle between life and death, but we have a real study in the culture of the depraved. We come to our own mortality and feel our own inability. Christ came to rescue us from our powerlessness and He teaches us that all men are powerless against death.
